Alijah Martin
6 '2 guard, Alijah Martin, has been a tremendous player since his high school days. During his senior season, he averaged 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. He was a First Team All-State selection, not to mention the MVP of the Alabama Mississippi All Star Game. His athleticism went beyond basketball, where Martin was also an All-State pick in football throwing for over 2,100 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Alijah continued his athletic career with Florida Atlantic University Men’s Basketball team. As a freshman he played in 20 of the team’s 22 games making 2 starting appearances. Martin averaged 4.5 points per game with 9 steals and 3 blocks on the year. As a second year freshman, Alijah only continued to improve. He started in all 33 games he played in, was the fourth ever FAU basketball player to be named to the C-USA Third Team, and led the Owls in scoring, rebounding, and steals.
After coming off such an amazing 2021-22 season, where Martin had 26 double digit scoring games, he has continued to grow this year. Alijah has played in all 6 of the Owls games this season, starting in 5, with a total of 152 minutes played on the season. He is shooting .478 from the field this season, and has 13 assists, 4 blocks, and 7 steals. We look forward to watching Alijah and the Owls throughout the rest of the season.
